Necessity of Effective Economic Analysis

Gibraltar’s economy was in need of significant change. Mr. Bossano, for the first time in the Government’s Budget, emphasized the need for economic analysis and the importance of economic and financial management.

Mr. Bossano advocated the need to expand Gibraltar’s economy and change policies in many areas to solve existing issues. For example, the Labour Government was keen on scaling down its building programme at the time. Mr Bossano insisted that the only way to solve the housing problem that existed was to continue building new accommodation and provide homes for the families who desperately needed them.
