The Captain of the Port has advised that the boom that surrounds the OS 35 will be removed today in anticipation of heavy swells that are forecast for this week.
Gibraltar Port will heighten its environmental monitoring during the period that the boom is away.
Both crane barges will also seek shelter at Gibraltar Port during this time.
The boom will be replaced and the crane barges will resume wreck removal operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
