The Captain of the Port is pleased to confirm that the heavy swells on the eastside subsided enough to enable the safe redeployment of the boom around the OS 35 yesterday evening. The operation was completed by 6.00PM. There have been no further reports of free floating residues, whilst the monitoring and cleaning of remaining residues along Gibraltar’s coastline is ongoing.
Please remain cautious on the beaches and when bathing as small tar balls may still be present.
Any sightings of oiled wildlife should be reported to the Environmental Protection Officers on 58009620.
