The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo attended the topping out ceremony for Hassan Centenary Terraces this afternoon, following the successful completion of structural works to the buildings.
Hassan Centenary Terraces Phase 1 consists of blocks 4, 5 and 6. Block 4 is the tallest of the entire development and also in Gibraltar, consisting of 34 storeys and standing at 111 metres above ground level. Phase 1 will deliver 380 apartments over the 3 blocks.
The Chief Minister also toured a sample 3-bedroom apartment prepared to agreed finishes and standards, as part of his visit to the site.
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said: “I was delighted to visit the site of Hassan Centenary Terraces this afternoon to celebrate this important milestone in the project. This is a project we were able to see progress through the pandemic as a result of having signed contracts before COVID hit us.
“Phase 1 will be completed by next July 2023. Phase 2, unfortunately delayed as it is will start next week when piling commences. Chatham and Bob Peliza Mews will start on the basis of the timetable shared in Parliament this week. These are homes for Gibraltarian families and I am so proud of our work in delivering these projects, however unfortunately delayed, as everything is as a result of the Pandemic.
“I will say this, the views from Hassan Centenary Terraces are really impressive. Those who have bought there are making a brilliant investment for their families and for their financial futures.”
